Bi Waste (Pty) Ltd | Last updated 29 September 2026
This policy explains how Bi Waste (Pty) Ltd collects and uses personal information when you visit
www.biwaste.com, contact us, request a quote or receive our waste collection services. We handle personal
information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
1 Who is responsible for your information
Bi Waste (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for the information described in this policy. You can contact our
office on 064 505 9455 or at biwaste@gmail.com. Business or postal address: Plot 424, Boschkop Road,
Zwavelspoort, Pretoria East, 0036
For privacy requests, email biwaste@gmail.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line.
2 Information we collect
Depending on your interaction with us, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, property
or service address, estate or business name, the details of your enquiry, the number of bins or services
requested, and correspondence with us.
If you become a client, we may also keep the details needed to manage collections, contracts, invoices,
payments and account queries. Our website and its security tools may process technical information such as
your IP address, browser information and cookies.
We usually receive this information directly from you through the website, by email or telephone, or during a
service application. We may also receive relevant service details from an estate, body corporate or business
representative who is authorised to deal with us.
3 Why we use it
We use personal information to respond to enquiries; assess service availability; prepare quotes; arrange,
deliver and manage waste collection; communicate about schedules and service changes; administer
accounts and payments; resolve complaints; maintain business records; and protect the website and our
operations.
We process information where it is necessary for an enquiry or contract, to comply with a legal obligation, for
a legitimate business interest permitted by POPIA, or with your consent where consent is required. We will
not use your contact details for unrelated electronic marketing without a lawful basis, and you can ask us to
stop marketing communications.
4 Information needed to assist you
Providing information through a general enquiry is voluntary. We need a way to contact you to answer it. To
quote for or provide a collection service, we may need your service address, property details and collection
requirements. If you do not provide those details, we may be unable to give an accurate quote or arrange the
service.
5 Who may receive your information
We share information only as needed with authorised staff and service providers who help us operate the
website, deliver collections, manage accounts or obtain professional advice. This may include our website
host, email and form providers, accountants and contracted operational providers. We may also disclose
information when required by law or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Bi Waste focuses on estate, complex and business services. If you enquire about collection for an individual
bin and ask us to arrange a referral, we may pass the contact, address and service details needed for follow-
up to Green Enterprise 44 (Pty) Ltd, a separate company in our group. Green Enterprise 44 will then be
responsible for explaining how it handles information it receives for its own service.
6 Cookies and website tools
The website uses cookies or similar technologies needed for normal operation and may use them to
understand how visitors use the site. The contact form uses a spam prevention tool, reCAPTCHA, which may
process technical information. You can manage cookies in your browser settings, although disabling some
cookies may affect website features.
7 Security and storage
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse
and unauthorised access. Access is limited to people who need the information for their work. No internet
transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes above, to meet legal or accounting
requirements, or to handle a dispute. We then delete, destroy or de-identify it when we are no longer
authorised to retain it.
Some website or email providers may store or process information outside South Africa. Where this occurs,
we will manage those transfers in accordance with POPIA.
8 Your choices and rights
Subject to POPIA and any applicable limitations, you may ask whether we hold your personal information,
request access to it, ask us to correct inaccurate information or delete information we are no longer
authorised to retain, or object to certain processing. If we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it. We may
need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Contact us at biwaste@gmail.com. If you believe your information has been handled unlawfully, you may
lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator at POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za or visit
www.inforegulator.org.za.
9 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, website tools or legal obligations change. The current version
and its update date will be published on our website.
